IMIDRO mining industry executives said Iran is expected by the end of 2016 a tender for the construction of a pipeline to transport bauxite from the mines of Guinea.

Mohammad Aghajanloo who spoke in an interview with Bloomberg, said the tender after receiving the results of feasibility studies by the German consulting firms will be published during the next two to three months.

He said the government has decided to revive the project, such as project Guinea. Bauxite imports to Iran through large ships now compared to twenty years ago is much more effective. In this scheme, crushed bauxite ore is mixed with water and then by pipeline to a port in Guinea will be sent for export.
